I have decided to stop the OLBIN Forum. There has been no input into the Forum in recent months. If anyone has suggestions as to how it can be made to work, please contact me and I'll see what I can do to get it running again.

Several people have suggested to me that the OLBIN Web pages have not been advertised widely enough. I would be grateful for specific suggestions as to how I might advertise it to a wider community. I particularly dislike spam of any sort and am loathe to use the OLBIN address list for bulk mailings.

I've scanned in a large number of photographs that Rudolf Danner and I took at the Dana Point Conference. I've scanned them in at 200 bpi, which makes each picture between 150k and 300k large. Yes, this is ridiculously large for computer display, but it may prove all that is necessary for the proceedings. The pictures are currently in my own directory

http://huey.jpl.nasa.gov/~lawson/dana/.

It seems unlikely that I will further massage these photographs in the near future (ie. reduce their size or provide a named index), but in the meanwhile please feel free to have a look through them. Warning: remember that each photograph is perhaps 200k. The group photo is 800k!

My favourite photographs are the ones of Prof. Antoine Labeyrie, and Chris Kulkarni and Shri Haniff.

The OLBIN pages will be dormant between June 19th and July 6th 1999.
Chazelles-sur-Lyon is not yet on the information superhighway!

Peter R. Lawson.
