The 2006 Meeting of the IAU Working Group will take place
in conjunction with the General Assembly of the IAU in Prague, Czech Republic,
9:00-12:30, Monday, 21 August 2006, in Meeting Room 1.1.

The meeting was held with the full SOC (except Pierre Lena) and with
approximately 80 people in attendence. The conclusions were
- The Chair of the Working Group and the SOC would solicit members
of the community to stand for the positions of President, Vice
President, and Chair of a future Commission on Optical/IR Interferometry
- The Chair and SOC would review the proposed names and forward
a list for voting by the community.
- A vote would take place in the week of June 12, 2006.
- Names would be forwarded to Chris Sterken, President of Division IX.
The results of the vote were the following proposed names for the
new Commission:
- President: Guy Perrin, Observatoire de Paris
- Vice President: Steve Ridgway, NOAO
Furthermore, two prospective Working Groups were proposed
- Working Group on Optical/IR Interferometry Data Standards, John Young (Chair)
- Working Group on Calibrator Stars, Christian Hummel (Chair)
