CDROM Proceedings of the
2001 Michelson Interferometry Summer School

CDROMs of the 2001 Michelson Interferometry Summer School proceedings are now available. The CDROMs contain the HTML of pages from the site

http://sim.jpl.nasa.gov/michelson/iss2001/cdrom1/index.htm

which includes PDF versions of the viewgraphs, the audio of most lectures, and the software that was developed for the school. The CDROMs are readable on PC, Mac, or Unix platforms and are distributed free of charge.

If you would like a copy of the 2001 Proceedings, please email your request to lawsonhuey.jpl.nasa.gov using the Subject "2001 CDROM" and include your mailing address in the body of the text. Copies should be available for mailing in mid-March 2002.

The CDROMs are printed as iso9660 filesystems. They are readable on Unix, Windows PCs, and MacIntosh computers. The file names on the CDROMs are all less than 8 characters with 3 letter extensions (except the software suites for Linux). The index file for the proceedings is in the root directory, "index.htm".

The CDROM Proceedings are copies of the files available at the site of Michelson Fellowship Program

http://sim.jpl.nasa.gov/michelson/iss.html

The files have been arranged as follows:

DISK 1: http://olbin.jpl.nasa.gov/iss2001/cdrom1/

index.htm Is the root HTML file for the Proceedings

All of the viewgraphs from the lectures are contained on the first CD in PDF format in the pdf/ directory.

The FLUOR software is in the fluor/ directory.

The Aperture Masking software is in the masking/ directory.

The NPOI software is in the npoi/ directory.

Two audio files in RealMedia format are also contained on the first CD

  1. Introduction by Peter Lawson (intro.rm)
  2. "Optical/Infrared Stellar Interferometry" by H.M. McAlister (hal2001.rm)

DISK 2: http://olbin.jpl.nasa.gov/iss2001/audio1/

A limited number of distributions (50) will include DISK 2. This disk contains audio files from the lab sessions of Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday along with selected other lectures. These can be accessed with RealPlayer using "File: Open file".

The RealPlayer is available as a free download through www.real.com.
