At the IAU General Assembly in Manchester in August 2000, the IAU Working Group
on Optical/IR Interferometry was moved from under Commission 9 (Instruments) to become an
official division-level working group within Division IX (Optical and Infrared Techniques).

working group was created. The new Chair of the
working group is Peter Lawson. The current president of Division IX is Arlo Landolt.
The organization of the Working Group is now in progress. Some details concerning its
organization may be found at the IAU Page on OLBIN.
