FLUOR Arrives at the CHARA Array

The FLUOR team, along with a truck full of dust, sand and equipment arrived along at CHARA on Tuesday 16th July. The guys on the truck where Vincent Coude du Foresto and students Cyrille Baudouin and Antonin Remond. They where also latter joined by Antoine Merand. Along with help from the CHARA crew, these guys will be installing FLUOR into the CHARA beam combiner area over the next few weeks and we hope to have first fringes with this system before the SPIE meeting. Stay tuned to OLBIN.

Several others came to the mountain, including Hal McAlister, Steve Ridgway, John Monnier, and Todd Hillwig and over the 17th and 18th we had long and lively discussions concerning the near and far term plans for the CHARA Array, beam combination, spectral distribution, possible future instrumental and scientific collaborations and so on.
